HELLO! I'M CARMEN
My passion for jeans, hats and coffee knows no bounds! When I'm not experiencing the great outdoors with my number one and Charlie, you can usually find me in a cosy cafe in town, sipping coffee and soaking up the atmosphere. Growing up on a farm has been an influential force in my life and I often draw on this. My famous quote has always been "From Gucci to Gumboots". I am just as happy in jeans and gumboots as I am when I am wedding ready. Fashion has also been a major influence in my style and I have an indulgent for New Zealand made natural fashion.
The photographic arts captivated me when I originally thought I wanted to become a writer of beautiful love stories. Unfortunately writing and reading them were two different stories! But when I started capturing people’s singular stories with my camera, a special kind of connection was formed. And it remains to this day.
On your wedding day, you want the atmosphere to be unforgettable! Therefore, I'm here to make sure everything runs without a hitch and - more importantly - will be your confidant, while joining you on the dance floor and capturing your best moves!

For me I remember looking through albums and falling in love with the people in the photos and had a feeling of been transported to a moment in time. Heck I even remember getting excited going through old shoeboxes filled to the brim with photos. It's those feels we get when we can sit and share those images with our loved ones, friends and family and relive those moments of love, joy and all those happy tears. That is why these moments in time are so important to capture, one you will never forget! If you feel the same way, about memories and photos, we will be a great fit!

I've always had a love for fashion and portrait photography and I try to include the two in my work. I love taking the time to savour the way people interact and draw inspiration from the profound conversations that come from really listening.
There's an indescribable beauty in the act of immortalising special moments. The environment that surrounds me is of constant inspiration, and am overwhelmed with admiration for the this incredible country we live in.
I strive to be down to earth and will always go the extra mile to provide excellent service for my couples. I'm more than just a service provider; I want to create lasting memories for you.

I believe that your wedding photos are one of the most important parts of your wedding that outlast everything else, if you value your photos and it is just as important to you, then I am the wedding photographer for you! My family is my heart rhythm and I I love watching my girls become strong independent woman that are creating beautiful lives of their own🖤.
I love discovering new places and am lucky enough to have called many places home. I am obsessed about denim, hats, and coffee. Some have even joked that I should have an intervention for the amount of denim and hats that I have, but I believe that there's never enough when it comes to hats and denim!
I grew up on a farm, which has shaped my appreciation for rolling hills, lakes, and the mountains that surround us. It's also where my deep love for animals started and why I absolutely love dogs, cats, and of course horses! I am a dog mum to our vizsla called Charlie and she is my rock, nothing beats out exploring with her and the delight she gets from discovery even if it was just yesterday we walked the same track 🖤
I travel from Central Otago, Canterbury and Marlborough for photography and weddings and despite life getting a bit chaotic at times, I wouldn't want it any other way. So that's a peek into my little life and some of my favourite things.

What inspires me

My love for photography started early on in my journey, and have also been lucky to have experienced so many varying work opportunities that have given me many tricks and a toolkit that has given me the nickname of "The Problem Solver" a modern day "Mary Poppins" slash "Macgyver" so on your wedding day you know that you will be looked after.
Documenting someones wedding for loved up souls for me is the ultimate honor, everyones story is so uniquely different and should be captured uniquely.
Let me make you feel like a rockstar, no posed uptight poses just moments captured. It's about mood, vibe, sneaky looks and those caught in-between moments that are sexy moody with movement. Often it's the blurry photos that I love the most, they are real, gritty and are perfectly imperfect. Lets do this!

So once we you get to know me you will learn that I have an addiction for jeans, hats, and coffee . Needless to say you can bet your ass that you will find me in a cafe somewhere in denim with a hat and always coffee. It has been mentioned that I may need an intervention when it comes to hats and denim, but I think that there will NEVER BE ENOUGH!
Growing up on a farm gave me a love for the hills, lakes and mountains and this makes my heart skip a beat when I get to go home. Sunday's for us are out on a track with Charlie every opportunity we can get. Life gets a little crazy at times but I wouldn't have it any other way.
There's also the little gypsy in me that loves exploring different places, We've been lucky to have called so many locations our home so if you are looking at getting married in any location I'd love to hear about your wild love adventure.

If I could give 100 stars I would, Carmen was absolutely amazing. Gave prompts when needed, made us feel super comfortable. She was extremely professional however made us laugh the whole time.
